The Duo Strings
Kamancello, comprised of Shahriyar Jamshidi, kamanche and Raphael Weinroth-Browne, cello, is an East-meets-West duo that blurs musical genre conventions and cultural boundaries with their highly evocative improvised performances. The scope of their creations ranges from soulful and emotive to incendiary and intense, and their sound has been described as being “totally entrancing.” Having made waves with performances at Montreal’s Place des Arts for Festival du Monde Arabe, Toronto’s Tirgan Festivel and Small World Music Centre.

Kamancello will be honored to have Nathanael Larochette for opening show at their second shows at Pressed Ottawa on December 9, 2017. Nathanael Larochette is an Ottawa based guitarist and member of the chamber folk trio Musk Ox and the instrumental progressive metal band The Night Watch.
